What Is Digital Printing?
Digital printing differs from our traditional gravure printing because digital printing machines do not require printing plates. Instead of using metal plates to transfer an image, digital printing presses print the image directly onto the film. Digital graphic work such as PDF or other files can be sent directly to the digital printing press to print.
In the flexible packaging industry, digital printing technology is evolving quickly, and digital printing output quality is improving continuously. As that technology quickly evolved, these advancements are delivering print quality that mimics gravure printing.

Although the colour saturation of digital printing is not as vivid as that of traditional gravure printing, the overall replication of artwork is much stronger. Traditional gravure printing can easily be affected by many external factors such as plate roller wear, ink viscosity control, temperature and humidity changes and so on. Unlike traditional gravure printing, digital printing creates an identical copy of the overall colour presentation of the original artwork.
Digital Printing Is More Eco Friendly
Compared with traditional gravure printing, digital printing does not need to make copper plates, consumes less ink in the printing process, and the process does not need to use chemical ink thinners. Digital printing can achieve zero emissions in the production process, which is very environmentally friendly.
Eliminating The Need for Plate Making and Saving Costs (Small Order)
If you launch a new product, conduct market promotion, or require a small amount of trial bags, digital printing will be the best choice. Please note: If the printing volume is relatively large, we suggest gravure printing. When you purchase in bulk quantities, the cost of gravure printing is actually lower.
